Save the Great South Bay is a local 501(c)3 Non-Profit that advocates for and implements real solutions that will help restore the bay, and with that, strengthen our South Shore communities.
The Coastal Research and Education Society of Long Island, CRESLI, was formed for the purposes of conducting research, providing educational experiences and promoting conservation of coastal ecosystems.
The Shinnecock Bay Restoration Program (ShiRP) was created in 2012 to combat the deterioration of Shinnecock Bay. Their goal is to use science, outreach, and partnerships to restore the water quality and fisheries of Shinnecock Bay.
ShiRP collects all of the oyster & clam shells at the annual oyster festival which will eventually become part of the oyster reef in Shinnecock Bay.
The Annual Blue Island Oyster Foundation Environmental Scholarship. Each year a graduating Sayville High School Senior pursuing higher education is presented with this scholarship.
